your call

no night is as dark

no cry is as sharp

no cut bleeds as long

no crime is as wrong

as the silence that falls

when you do not call

    • rich says:

      thanks miss

  3. Oh yes !!!! Nothing hurts more than the silence and distance of our loved one…

    • rich says:

same “loved one” who was loved by another in “precious”

  4. This is bliss:)
    what a lovely poem :)

    • rich says:

and a lovely comment from a lovely person.

  5. rheath40 says:

I can so relate to this little poem. With just a small amount of words you convey how easily a heart can break when you don’t hear from someone that you love….

  6. You must really like her:)

    • rich says:

      did. about 10 years ago.

  7. pivoine68 says:

Silence can be so much louder than sound.

    • rich says:

you can hurt someone more by ignoring them than by calling them names.

      • pivoine68 says:

It’s way more powerful. Easier to learn as well. I’m terrible at calling people names. :)

  8. Such a beautiful poem!

    • rich says:

thank you very much. how’d you find it?

  9. Odette says:

Love this…and that is very, very rare when it comes to blog poetry.

    • rich says:

If that is rare, then I will feel special, and indebted to you.

      • Odette says:

reading one of your stories right now…

  10. innamazing says:

This is wonderful, simply adored it. Short and deep. Would love to see you writing more poetry, cheers

    • rich says:

i usually only write poetry when inspired, and usually that means inspired by a woman.

      • innamazing says:

ah, yes! the muse of love. i believe all writers need a little inspiration

      • rich says:

        and dancers?

      • innamazing says:

well, yes, them too… of course! i didn’t intend to leave any one out ;)

      • rich says:

wasn’t suggesting that you would. but i saw dancers on your blog and thought i’d mention them.

  11. yep. ouch.

  12. annisik51 says:

And the worst silence of all is one that you’ve absolutely demanded and they’ve taken you at your word!

    • rich says:

we don’t all pick up on hints as well as others. ;)

      • annisik51 says:

True.Especially hard when the hinting: You’re absolutely not to not phone me ever again.

      • rich says:

i know i’m dumb, but i think i would still understand that one.
