I don’t know what you see
When you look at me.
I don’t know what you hear
When I call your name.
I’ve never felt your breath
As you softly exhale.
I’ve never had your sly glance
During a quiet, slow dance.
I’ve never had your hands
On my bare chest, over my shoulders
Or down my back.
And I’ve never placed my ear
Against your heart to hear
The beat of your life
And the music of your soul.
I don’t know you very well at all.
Beautiful.
