Every Wednesday Madison Woods posts a picture prompt to challenge writers to create a 100-word story or poem or anything that works for you. then post your work on your blog. additionally, on friday, you go back to her site and post a link to your blog entry in the comments on her friday fictioneers post.
I’m going to try to keep up with this, as should you. give it a shot. i prefer to stick to 100 words, but she doesn’t mind either way. not everyone has an hour and a half like i had this morning to sit and write, revise, edit, revise, edit, etc. until getting it down to 100 and telling everything you want to tell.
here’s this week’s picture. i am not thrilled with what i’ve produced though.
“Hey, that’s discrimination! I’m a taxpayer! I got some green!”
“I think green means money, not your exoskeleton.”
“Yeah, whatever, man. I just want a f**king Happy Meal.”
“How about Happy Mealworms? Hey, that’s funny, man.”
“Oh, yeah. But I got the munchies, and I got my antennae aimed at them French fries.”
“Nah, man. When I got the munchies, I need double cheeseburgers.”
He knocked, but again the window stayed.
“Ah, this sucks. Let’s try Wendy’s.”
“How about White Castle?”
“If we can’t get through a window, how you think we’re gonna get in a castle?”
“We’re bugs, jackass!”

Ahaha. HIs logic is flawless. Cracked me up.
glad to give a laugh. wasn’t easy to think of something to write for that pic.
It was a tough prompt, and I’m envious of everyone who got into the moth dialogue. I wanted to, but I just didn’t have the Lepidopterous Pulp Fiction in me.
toughest one yet. usually i’m on it right away. i didn’t write that until a few hours ago.
Ha ha…I saw the picture on her blog and thought wow youth one…but I have read 4 so far including yours and all different, yet all do very well done. You put humor in this and I never would have thought of that looking at the pic. Well done!!!
*darn spell check- tough one* not youth one…all so very well done
thanks. wasn’t an easy prompt.
I like it. It’s quirky. 🙂 Sam
Nice twist at the end. I thought you could’ve metaphored it up a bit earlier, like maybe instead of ‘the window stayed’, ‘the window stared back’, or something like that. It works okay as it is though.
i had something like “again the window didn’t open.” that was to cut words to add “we’re bugs, jackass” at the end.
You could easily cut words elsewhere, like ‘When I get munchies’ instead of the original.
oh well. i had written in the notes that it was not my best work. there’s always next friday.
Man, don’t do yourself down. It’s a good piece. I’m envious. It’s playful and mischievous. You could extend it into a longer piece easily. Keep rocking your shit!
thanks sir. that’s some positive stuff there. thanks.
Super cute. And I mean that in a manly, impressive way, of course.
thanks, in a manly impressive way.
Your story made me laugh and that is a good thing. 🙂
glad to help.
pretty damn funny … pretty difficult promp. Kudos to you!
time for me to start reading others…
hahaha…It was great!
He’s kind of bugbrained (worse than birdbrained), isn’t he? This one’s funny – congratulations!
My story – http://newpillowbook.wordpress.com/2012/05/25/friday-fictioneers-losers/
not quite the ‘moth-man’ prophecies…but I thought it was good too! Got a laugh…in a sort of beavis and butthead way. 🙂 you are so hard on yourself…but then, all you writers are. lighten up…have some fun…this one was fun.
you made me laugh at those creepy things
I’m glad it worked.
Great dialogue. I’ve got to say I find the notion of moths eating fries and cheeseburgers a tad gruesome. Nice one.
The hunt for the perfect munchies! Lol, definitely been there. Love the White Castle bit at the end, and when you mentioned the exoskeleton, it kept me tuned into the fact that they are moths! Great read, and funny too!

I will check that out when I can get on my computer. Thanks. But I usually don’t participate because I never know what I should do about choosing people to. I always feel I will insult someone who I do not select.
ohhh… This one was HARD! Love the last line though!
thanks miss. yes, was verrry hard.
